Before any article that involves a minor is published, the draft undergoes an additional review by Anna Jung. This review examines whether the child’s identity is truly necessary for the public interest, whether consent from a parent or guardian has been obtained where practicable, and whether the language used avoids stigmatisation or harm. Our Fact-Checking Policy applies equally to material about minors: every source is verified, and no quote or detail may be fabricated.
Pressesicht does not publish names, school details, home addresses, or identifiable photographs of minors without a clear editorial justification that has been approved by the Standards Lead. In cases where a child is the subject of a sensitive story – for example, abuse, trafficking, or legal proceedings – we take extra steps to anonymise the child and avoid any secondary trauma.
